Taoyuan Refinery Hydrogen Sulfide Leak: CPC Corp. Taiwan Confirms Pipeline Restored to Safe State

On July 5th, 2024, a hydrogen sulfide leak incident occurred at the CPC Corporation's Taoyuan Refinery, resulting in one worker being sent to the hospital due to inhaling the gas. Fortunately, the worker was successfully rescued and transferred to Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for treatment. The incident was caused by a possible detachment of an air respirator hose during pipeline blind plate installation by a contractor at the refinery. CPC Corp. Taiwan promptly reported the incident to authorities and conducted emergency repairs, restoring the pipeline to a safe state by 17:24. Investigation is ongoing at the scene.
