Huang Lixiong initiated a luxury ban on June 12, 2024, where he cannot take high-speed rail or taxis until he pays off his tax arrears. Due to owing over 71.3 million NTD in taxes, Huang was given a monthly living allowance limit and restricted from using taxis, high-speed rail, and airplanes. The Huang family was involved in a 10-billion NTD fraud case, with Huang's son and socialite girlfriend fleeing to Canada after a medical clinic bankruptcy, resulting in tax arrears and legal actions against them. Huang's ban on luxury activities also includes restrictions on investment, purchase of luxury goods, and staying at high-end hotels, among other restrictions, with a reward offered to those who report any violations of the ban.
