Tax Debtors Owe a Total of 89.512 Billion NT Dollars - Huang Family Owes Nearly 3.37 Billion, and Grand Hyatt Owes 21.8 Billion

On July 1, 2024, the Ministry of Finance in Taiwan released a list of major tax debtors, with the late stock market guru Huang Jen-chung's family still at the top for individual debt, owing nearly 33.7 billion NT dollars. Additionally, Huang's son, Huang Jo-gu, owes over 1.9 billion NT dollars in inheritance tax and penalties. The Grand Hyatt hotel ranks first among corporate tax debtors, owing over 21.8 billion NT dollars. The total amount of tax debt announced this time was about 89.512 billion NT dollars across 915 cases, down from the previous year's figures by 16 cases and 31.97 billion NT dollars. The ministry emphasized its efforts in pursuing tax evaders and collaborating with enforcement agencies to retrieve owed taxes.
