Huang Lixiong's luxury ban was activated on June 12, 2024, at 3:04 a.m. restricting him from using high-speed rail and taxis until his tax debt is settled. Due to owing over 71.3 million NT dollars, he is limited to a monthly living allowance of 24,000 NT dollars and is prohibited from extravagant activities such as investing, buying luxury items, traveling by taxi, high-speed rail, or airplane, staying in hotels above four stars, or playing golf. The Administrative Enforcement Agency has also announced a reward for reporting any luxury behavior, with a maximum reward of 1 million NT dollars. Huang Lixiong and his son Huang Bojian were involved in a 10-billion NT dollar investment fraud case related to their collapsed hospital, which led them to evade authorities and prompted the issuance of the luxury ban.
