The latest statistics from the Ministry of Finance show that in 2022, the number of households with comprehensive income over 2 million exempt from tax has exceeded 300, reaching 318, which is a significant increase of 79 households compared to 2021. This increase is attributed to adjustments in various deduction amounts benefiting high-income individuals. The analysis also reveals a widening income gap between the highest and lowest income brackets, with scholars suggesting subsidies on electricity prices for low-income individuals and increased taxes on high-income earners through investments to achieve tax fairness.
