On June 22, 2024, a taxi driver surnamed Guo bought a new car for over a million, intending to use it for business, only to find out upon delivery that the fare meter installed by the dealer was of a different brand than initially specified. He was furious and stormed into the office to demand accountability, recording the encounter on his phone. Although the matter was eventually settled, it was clarified that as long as the fare meter is certified, different brands are acceptable for taxi operations.
