Taxi Union Director Spends NT$150,000 to Purchase Signature Petitions for Guo Taiming, Ends up Being Prosecuted for Improper Format and Misconduct

Tang Wenlong, the current council of the Taipei Taxi Drivers Occupational Union, decided to invest NT$150,000 to buy 300 signature petitions for Foxconn founder Guo Taiming's presidential candidacy, believing he could profit by reselling them later. However, all the petitions were destroyed due to format issues. The Taipei District Prosecutors Office investigated Tang and six others for violating the Presidential and Vice Presidential Election and Recall Act, resulting in charges being filed against them. Tang's misconceptions about receiving monetary rewards led to financial loss and legal consequences, highlighting the repercussions of his actions.
