On July 8, 2024, at 6:55 PM, Tzu Chi volunteers in Nepal inaugurated a community center in Lumbini where villagers were invited to learn about Tzu Chi despite it being National Rice Planting Day. Some villagers even paused their work to attend and some even took bamboo banks to join the charity acts. The event brought villagers together despite the rice planting season, showcasing unity and kindness in the community. Malaysia Tzu Chi volunteer Chong Wing Ming expressed gratitude for the warm response from villagers who were eager to engage in charitable activities. The bamboo banks symbolize the spirit of kindness and love, fostering a sense of communal harmony and mutual aid in the village.
