In New Taipei City, a tragic incident occurred in Sanchong District on the evening of the 9th where a 42-year-old man surnamed Liao killed his 43-year-old wife surnamed Liu, then took their 6-month-old son to Yangmingshan for a double suicide. Liu, a former accountant at a tech company, was let go due to pregnancy in 2023 and now tragically fell victim to her husband, whose motives remain unclear. The couple had faced job loss and financial difficulties post-pregnancy and allegedly had frequent conflicts over parenting issues, leading to the fatal attack. The husband was found dead by suicide, while the infant was also found deceased, prompting ongoing investigations to clarify the situation.
