AU Optronics' Chief Operating Officer Wu Tianyu stated that the company has planted nearly 130,000 saplings with a goal to reach 150,000 in a few years, ultimately aiming for 400,000 to 500,000 trees in 30 years. In addition to their efforts in reducing carbon emissions, AUO continues to invest in tree planting projects in Taiwan's mountains, partnering with the government to enhance environmental resilience and biodiversity. They have already planted various tree species across the country, with a recent initiative involving over 100 participants planting saplings in a forest conservation area in Kaohsiung. This ongoing commitment reflects AUO's dedication to environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility, emphasizing the importance of tree planting for a greener future.
