Telefonica Germany and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are conducting a pilot project to explore quantum technologies in mobile networks, focusing on optimizing mobile tower placements, enhancing network security through quantum encryption, and laying the groundwork for future 6G networks. As major tech companies work to harness quantum mechanics for superior computing power, Telefónica plans to migrate millions of its 5G customers to the AWS cloud within the next year and a half.
