Chunghwa Telecom's operations in Changhua experienced a major server failure in the early hours of the morning, affecting residents in Changhua, Nantou, and Yunlin who were unable to make successful landline calls. Calls either went to voicemail or showed up as vacant numbers, even emergency lines like 110 and 119 were busy or unreachable. The issue was attributed to a brief malfunction during equipment replacement. Normal service was later restored after repairs by Chunghwa Telecom. Local authorities and netizens raised concerns about the inability to report emergencies during this time, but fortunately, no major incidents occurred.
