After the Reserve Command Headquarters of Miaoli County sent a document to local temples requesting assistance in signing an 'Ammunition Pre-deployment Support Agreement,' sparking local controversies, the headquarters responded that they will continue to communicate and explain to the locals without coercion, emphasizing that it is for drill purposes only and real ammunition will not be stored. Former Air Force Deputy Commander Zhang Yanting expressed concerns that temples might become enemy targets during wartime and questioned the military's planning to store ammunition there. He raised safety issues and pointed out that temples could be used as shelters for refugees and casualties during conflicts, suggesting that temples should reject such proposals.
