Temples in Miaoli have received consecutive military documents requesting the signing of an agreement for pre-storing ammunition at temple grounds for support in times of conflict. This has raised discussions about whether temples are being used as backup ammunition depots, especially during the ongoing Rim of the Pacific Exercise, increasing military attention and causing tension among the public. These actions come after a similar incident in Kaohsiung earlier this year, with the military clarifying that there is no actual ammunition placement happening, but rather a collaboration with civilian resources for logistical support drills.
