As part of the Taoyuan Railway Underground Project, the Zhongli Railway Station in Taiwan was demolished and rebuilt, with a temporary Zhongli Front Station serving passengers during the construction. The inauguration ceremony for the start of construction and the use of the temporary front station was attended by Minister of Transportation Lee Meng-yen, Taoyuan City Deputy Mayor Su Jun-bin, and Chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation Zheng Wen-chan. The new Zhongli Station is a key project under the Taoyuan Railway Underground Project, involving the construction of underground tunnels for Taiwan Railways, Taoyuan MRT, and the Airport MRT extension, with the need to maintain railway operations during construction. The temporary Front Station is now operational, enhancing the urban landscape and service quality for Taiwan Railways passengers.
