According to SETN news on June 13, 2024, Jessica Tsai (file photo) is likely to secure an Olympic women's doubles qualification spot through the combined ranking system. She has chosen her sister, Wen-ran Tsai, as her partner, aiming to compete at the Paris Olympics. Despite failing to defend her title at the French Open, current world No.2 Shu-we Hsieh has confirmed her Olympic participation by selecting young player Chia-yi Tsao. Taiwan can have two pairs for the Olympic tennis women's doubles event, and it is estimated that Tsai, ranked 28th in the world, may also qualify. The Tsai sisters won the women's doubles gold at the Hangzhou Asian Games last year. Wen-ran Tsai will use her protected ranking to enter as the 35th in the women's doubles. Selection meetings will be held similarly to Hsieh's team. The Taiwan Olympic delegation will be submitted to ITF by the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee.
