Tennis: Hsieh Hao-Ching Doesn't Partner Wu Fang-hsien for Olympics; Chan Yung-jan: Best Chance for Inclusion

Reported about 1 year ago

On June 15, 2024, Taiwanese women's doubles tennis player Hsieh Hao-Ching announced her partnership with her sister, Chan Yung-jan, instead of regular partner Wu Fang-hsien. This decision sparked controversy, with some speculating that Wu was removed from the team. However, Chan Yung-jan clarified that the decision was made to maximize the chance of getting into the Olympics. Taiwan has secured one women's doubles spot with Hsieh partnering with a young player, while Chan Yung-jan, despite being out due to injury since October, will be partnering with her sister to compete in the Olympics for the third time.
