When the honor guard passed the commander's platform, they did not salute according to military protocol. Despite this, Lai Ching-te maintained composure and interacted warmly with the alumni at the lunch event, showcasing the demeanor and democratic manner of a national leader. The tense situation was resolved peacefully, and the event concluded smoothly, with Lai Ching-te even chatting with and taking photos with the alumni.
