Terry Gou, the chairman of Foxconn who publicly stated Taiwan should leverage nuclear energy, has been appointed as the vice convener of the 'National Climate Change Strategy Committee' by President Tsai Ing-wen. Gou emphasized that all energy options should be beneficial to Taiwan, including reducing carbon emissions to prevent global warming, and he will exchange views with the president after joining the committee. Despite previously opposing nuclear energy, Gou has changed his stance in the face of the global trend towards net zero emissions, advocating for Taiwan to utilize nuclear energy for the greater good.
