Tesla is facing an issue of overproduction with 46,561 unsold vehicles in Q1 2024. As a result of a slowdown in EV sales and internal factors, including a mismatch in production, Tesla now has an excess of inventory, leading to slashed prices on models like the Model Y. The surplus cars are being stored in lots visible from space, as seen in satellite imagery of Tesla's Texas Gigafactory and other locations across the U.S.
