Tesla has announced a recall of nearly 380,000 vehicles in the United States due to a power steering assist issue that can increase steering effort, particularly at low speeds, thus raising the risk of crashes. This recall follows an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after multiple reports from Tesla owners about steering failures. Tesla has identified over 3,000 warranty claims related to the issue but claims there have been no associated crashes or fatalities. An over-the-air software update has been released to address the problem.
