The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has ordered Tesla to address air quality issues at its Fremont facility in the San Francisco Bay Area, where over 100 violations were recorded for releasing toxic emissions over the past five years. The violations, each capable of emitting significant amounts of illegal air pollution, were mainly linked to the plant's paint shop operations. Tesla has been instructed to hire an independent consultant, draft an implementation plan, and comply with air quality regulations to halt the harmful emissions, with the board emphasizing the importance of protecting public health and the surrounding community from these emissions.
