As supply chain recovery and rising prices push up global car manufacturers' 'profit per car' (the net profit earned per car sold), in the fiscal year 2023 (April 2023 to March 2024), among 12 major global car manufacturers, 9 saw an increase in profit per car, with Tesla leading the pack. Tesla's profit for selling one car can match that of Chinese brand BYD's profit for selling 5 cars, with Tesla earning around 22.2 thousand New Taiwan Dollars per car sold, while BYD earns around 3.9 thousand New Taiwan Dollars. This data was derived by dividing net profit by global sales volume for the top 10 revenue-generating car manufacturers and Tesla and BYD, showing Tesla's profit per car at 1.11 million Japanese Yen (approximately 22.2 thousand New Taiwan Dollars), more than 5 times that of BYD. Other car manufacturers mentioned in the report include Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Toyota, with Tesla surpassing them all in profit per car sold.
