Texas Instruments announced it will receive up to $1.6 billion from the U.S. Commerce Department to fund the construction of three facilities in Texas and Utah. This funding, part of the CHIPS and Science Act, complements TI's commitment of $18 billion in investments to create 2,000 manufacturing jobs by 2029. The initiative aims to boost domestic semiconductor production, aligning with the U.S. goal of enhancing supply chain security in the semiconductor industry.
