Texas Reaches $1.38 Billion Settlement with Google Over Data Privacy Violations

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced that Google will pay $1.375 billion to settle allegations that the company violated users’ data privacy, including tracking movements and collecting biometrics without consent. This settlement resolves two lawsuits related to Incognito mode, Location History, and facial recognition issues. While Google maintains it did not admit wrongdoing, the agreement allows the company to move forward without making product changes.
