Residents of Marathon, Texas, experienced a drastic temperature drop from 105 to the mid-50s within an hour due to a severe hail storm. The town had to deploy snow plows to clear streets covered in two feet of hail, resembling snow. This unusual weather event also brought heavy rain and marked one of the significant temperature swings in Texas history. The severe storms over Memorial Day weekend across multiple states resulted in deaths and destruction, with more than 600,000 customers losing power in Texas.
