Thai Prime Minister Srettha Reveals US Ambassador's Letter Urging Thailand to Purchase F-16 Fighter Jets

Reported about 1 year ago

Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin mentioned on June 30th that the US Ambassador to Thailand, Robert F. Godec, recently sent a letter proposing that the Thai Air Force purchase F-16 Block 70 fighter jets from Lockheed Martin. However, Srettha pointed out that there are still many issues to discuss in the procurement proposal, including Thailand's requests for reciprocity. Last month, there were reports of Sweden offering Gripen fighter jets to Thailand, with SAAB promising technology transfer and added value beyond the procurement cost.
