On June 23, 2024, at 4:24 AM, a male high school student, Liu Zheqi, suspected to have been electrified collapsed, and the teachers and students on-site hesitated to rescue him. In a high school in Tambon Kham Dong, Trang Province, Thailand, a fatal incident occurred during a sports event. The male student tried to switch off a water dispenser and was electrocuted, falling to the ground. Despite many teachers and students present during the accident, they were afraid of being electrocuted and delayed their rescue efforts. By the time the student was finally taken to the hospital, it was too late. Video footage shared on a local Thailand Facebook page shows the incident and the delayed rescue response. The preliminary suspicion is that the water dispenser and tap were leaking electricity, compounded by the rainy weather causing a moist environment, leading to the fatal electrocution accident.
