Yahoo Taiwan (Instant News) - On June 26, 2024, at 6:12 a.m., the Chinese Communist Party issued the '22 Rules' to punish Taiwan independence advocates, allowing for 'absent trials' and even the death penalty for those deemed to be 'splitting the country.' President of the Democratic Progressive Party, Lai Ching-te, stated that over 90% of Taiwan's population could be affected and cautioned those traveling to Mainland China for business or tourism to be aware of the risks. Lai also emphasized the need for caution and unity in the face of China's suppression, urging all parties to stand together and leave constitutional disputes to the constitutional court.
