Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang was a renowned female politician in China who supported two emperors across three dynasties. Despite her significant contributions, she was not buried until 39 years after her death, when her great-grandson Emperor Yongzheng finally laid her to rest. The delay was due to her dying wish to be buried near her son Emperor Shunzhi's tomb and her concern for disturbing the tomb of her deceased husband Emperor Taiji. This unprecedented delay in burial set a new precedent in Chinese history.
