Amid a severe shortage of intravenous fluids in Taiwan, causing complaints from medical professionals, Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare Lin Jingyi recently made multiple explanations about the IV fluid situation on her personal Facebook account, responding to criticisms such as suggesting a switch from a requested 2000cc to 500cc due to supply issues. This led to dissatisfaction from legislator Chen Zhaozi who criticized Lin for using Facebook as a messaging platform instead of official channels. Lin acknowledged the need to be more conservative in her responses to avoid unnecessary disputes in the future, reassuring the public of ongoing efforts to secure IV fluid supply and ensuring quality standards are maintained.
