Since opening in 1969, Cracker Barrel's menu has undergone changes, leading to the disappearance of items like fried chicken liver and campfire meals. One such discontinued item is the boneless, wild-caught North Atlantic haddock filet, which was coated in a blend of cornmeal and flour before grilling, served with biscuits or corn muffins and three Country Sides. Despite positive feedback, the haddock was removed, possibly due to high costs or supply issues. Although Cracker Barrel rarely brings back discontinued items, the haddock made a temporary return in spring 2024 as 'Fried White Fish,' receiving positive reviews, hinting at a possible permanent comeback if well-received.
