A recent court ruling cleared the name of Keelung Mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang in a commercial dispute over the East Coast Plaza, where the former operator, Da-Ji Company, lost the bid to Wind City Group and subsequently filed a lawsuit against the Keelung City Government. Despite the ruling, the Green Camp continued to promote the recall of Mayor Hsieh, prompting criticism from Kuomintang legislator Loh Chih-chiang. Loh pointed out the injustice of using recall campaigns for political retaliation instead of removing unfit politicians, emphasizing the need to safeguard democratic mechanisms from such misuse.
