The Forbidden City, also known as the ancient ‘Purple Forbidden City,’ is the largest surviving wooden structure palace architecture in the world with deep historical and cultural significance, attracting numerous visitors annually. Among its mysterious areas is the ‘Cold Palace,’ often speculated to be closed off due to heavy yin energy making it unsuitable for ordinary visitors. However, Puyi, the last Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, revealed in his autobiography that these areas are where disgraced concubines were housed, devoid of historical relics or restoration efforts, offering little aesthetic value and not due to any supposed negative energy. The story illustrates the tragic fate of concubines like Concubine Zhen during the late Qing Dynasty, disproving the notion of negative energy in the Cold Palace.
