A major fire broke out at a factory in a Tainan City industrial zone on July 17, 2024, suspected to have stored chemicals that fueled the flames. Thick smoke filled the area, with reports of explosions heard. Tainan City Fire Department deployed 32 vehicles and 65 personnel for firefighting efforts, with no reports of injuries or trapped individuals so far.
