A 24-year-old man in Taichung, Taiwan, stole a gold ring worth about 30,000 yuan from a jewelry store in Yilan's Luodong town on July 30th. Pretending to shop for a ring, he quickly took the ring while the owner wasn't looking and fled. The police intercepted the thief on National Highway 5 and handed him over to the Yilan District Prosecutors Office for theft. The thief, known for his criminal record, attempted to sell the stolen item in other areas, but was apprehended by the police who also recovered the ring.
