In a recent incident reported on June 24th, 2024, a woman was caught shoplifting five times using the 'meat-clipping' technique in a chain store near the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. She would place a pack of beef ribs worth around NT$500 into her bag from the freezer section and leave without paying. After being identified and caught by the police on her fifth attempt, she was taken into custody for investigation. The store urged other businesses to enhance theft prevention measures and advised the public to pay honestly while shopping, warning against the consequences of attempting theft.
