Thousands of Pets Killed in Bangkok Chatuchak Market Fire

Reported about 1 year ago

A major fire broke out in the pet section of Bangkok's Chatuchak Market on June 11, with estimates of thousands of animals perishing. No human casualties were reported, but the blaze consumed over a hundred pet shops. The 1400-square-meter pet section housed 118 stores selling dogs, snakes, birds, rabbits, fish, monkeys, and rare animals. Local officials are investigating the cause of the fire while affected businesses can register for compensation due to the significant losses incurred.
