Reported about 1 year ago
In New Taipei City, a Taipei University graduate, dissatisfied with a mistake in an order from McDonald's, reportedly left a threatening message on the company's official customer service system demanding that the owner transfer 300,000 NT dollars or else she would 'randomly poison a store.' Concerned about potential harm to innocent people, the business quickly reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of the suspect who had sent six threatening messages within five days. The suspect, a 49-year-old woman surnamed Ge, allegedly unemployed and in financial difficulties, used her phone to threaten well-known fast food chains for money, causing distress to the business. Despite her apparent fondness for the restaurant, she was eventually arrested and faced charges of attempting to extort money through threats. Police urged businesses to report such incidents to prevent innocent individuals from being harmed.
