Reported about 1 year ago

Following Taiwanese former senator Renho Murata receiving death threats on the 23rd, the office of current Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike also received threatening letters with contents like 'explosives installed.' The Tokyo Gubernatorial Election, scheduled for July 7, has been marred by these incidents. Koike's office in Toshima Ward received letters containing threats of 'acid attacks' and 'explosives installed,' similar to the threats received by Renho. The police are investigating these threats as acts of intimidation.
