Yuriko Koike, the incumbent Tokyo Governor, received a death threat through a fax predicting a bomb at her campaign office and a threat to blind her with sulphuric acid. This threat comes after Taiwanese-Japanese gubernatorial candidate Renho also received a death threat of being 'stabbed to death' recently. Both candidates emphasized they will not yield to such despicable acts and will ensure the safety of the public during the upcoming election on July 7th. This is not the first instance of candidates receiving death threats, as Renho also received a similar threat of being stabbed. The threats conveyed a serious tone, hinting at potential violence against candidates.
