A fire in a seven-story residential building on Yanshou Road in Tucheng District, New Taipei City, early on June 13 resulted in three deaths. The cause of the fire was suspected to be an explosion of lithium batteries during charging. The local chief, Tang Yuelan, revealed that the father of the family on the fourth floor discovered the intense fire, tried to put it out with water, and it exploded. The tragic incident claimed the lives of the mother, son, and daughter's boyfriend. The fire likely started due to the four lithium batteries being charged one after another since early morning, used for gardening tools by the family involved in gardening business.
