Reported about 1 year ago
On June 30, 2024, three Navy officers from the Navy Warship Sea Tiger, who went missing after falling overboard in December last year, were officially declared deceased in accordance with the Military Relief Act. President Lai Ching-te expressed his respects by awarding a commendation order during a memorial service in Kaohsiung. Despite over half a year passing since the incident, their whereabouts remain unknown. The Navy concluded that the officers likely perished, citing operational or duty-related disappearances as the reason. The incident, which resulted from rough sea conditions, prompted a reflection on safety measures and equipment on the warship to prevent similar tragedies from occurring again.
