The Environmental Protection Agency in Taiwan is working on the third wave of indoor air quality control measures to protect vulnerable groups, expanding the protected areas to include kindergartens, childcare centers, long-term care facilities, and nursing homes. The new air quality standards will be implemented in three stages, with the first stage aiming to reduce the annual average of PM2.5 to 12 micrograms by 2030, with the new standards expected to take effect in September. The measures are in response to the increased importance of indoor air quality post-pandemic, aiming to address health issues caused by poor indoor air quality.
