According to Yahoo News, the Central Weather Bureau issued a special rainfall warning in the afternoon, as convective cloud systems are developing vigorously, leading to potentially short-term heavy rainfall. There is a possibility of localized heavy rain in areas south of Chiayi, Nantou, and the mountainous regions of Yunlin today. People are advised to be cautious of thunder and strong gusts, as well as to guard against landslides, falling rocks, debris flows, and rapidly rising river waters in mountainous areas. The counties and cities under the warning include Nantou, Yunlin, Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County.
