On June 30, 2024, a female college student surnamed Hu found a thyroid nodule during a medical check-up which led to uncertainty of benignancy or malignancy. After seeking treatment at Renai Chang Gung Hospital, it was confirmed to be malignant intrathyroidal papillary carcinoma without lymph node metastasis. The student underwent a successful Da Vinci Thyroid Surgery by Dr. Wu Yi-Ru. Thyroid nodules are common in women aged 20-45, affecting 45% of the population, with 5% becoming malignant. Early detection is crucial as thyroid cancer rates are increasing, with younger patients like Hu having a good prognosis after surgery without needing medication or chemotherapy.
