On June 13, 2024, British publication Times Higher Education (THE) released the 2024 World University Impact Rankings, with four Taiwanese universities making it to the top 100. National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) ranked 25th, maintaining its position as the top university in Taiwan. THE evaluated universities based on research, management, outreach, teaching, and their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. NCKU excelled in various areas like industrial innovation, health, affordable clean energy, green economy promotion, clean water, and hunger eradication. Other Taiwanese universities like Yang-Ming University, National Taiwan University (NTU), and Dong Hwa University also made it to the list. Additionally, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, and Taipei Medical University were ranked before the top 200.
