Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Caucus Chief Ko Chien-ming was suspected of smoking in the Legislative Yuan meeting room on June 14, 2024. KMT Taipei City Councilor Liu Tsai-wei reported this to the Taipei City Health Bureau, with Taipei City Mayor Chiang Wan-an requesting Ko Chien-ming to provide an explanation within 7 days. Ko admitted to the behavior, stating it was a bad example and willing to accept punishment if necessary. The Taipei City Health Bureau is investigating the matter and will take action according to the law if no response is provided within 7 days.
