In the Tokyo Governor election, Taiwanese-Japanese former Senator Renho, a candidate, was reported to have received a fax with death threats targeting her, including threats of being stabbed with a knife and bomb placements on June 24, 2024. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police are currently investigating the incident as a suspected case of intimidation. Renho's legal representative has already submitted a victim application on June 23, and further details are being withheld to not hinder the investigation progress.
