In Tokyo's Kokuritsu City, a new 10-story apartment building was recently completed but faced with demolition due to obstructing the view of Mount Fuji from the famous 'Fuji View Street'. The developer decided to demolish the entire building ahead of the scheduled move-in date as a response to public outrage over the blocked view. The building, initially designed to offer panoramic views of Mount Fuji, had each unit priced between 70 to 80 million Japanese yen. The decision came after residents and even the mayor expressed concern about the impact the building had on the surrounding area and its iconic view of Mount Fuji.
